Plan your Prep

And now that you're all set and gung ho about starting your My-eSAT course, what are your first steps? It's time to plan your prep.
  • Step 1

    Give yourself a deadline.

That means decide when you are going to take the SAT. That's your deadline. We recommend that first time test takers plan a SAT date in the Fall or Spring of their Junior year.

    Here's the lowdown:

Fall semester: Here's when a lot of seniors take the SAT right in time to send off to colleges, thereby somewhat inflating the average score ever so slightly (seniors are on average older and smarter right?).

Spring Semester: These are mostly Junior test takers. However if you wait this long, you may run into timing problems if you want to retake the test AND finish all your SAT II's. It's your choice.

Most students find it effective to schedule their My-eSAT course to end immediately before their schedule exam date. That way all the information they learn is still fresh in their heads.

  • Step 2

    Schedule your Prep.

Block out 4 to 8 weeks prior your exam for preparation. This will give you time to finish your My-eSAT course. The shorter amount of time you give yourself, the more work you will have to do during your course.

We'll work you to help you come up with a good study schedule that works for you.

  • Step 3

    Commit to your Study Schedule.

There is a myth that when you take classes online, you can just take them on the days you feel like it and skip it the days you don't.

But that's not how My-eSAT does business, and it's not in your best interests either.

What our online classes actually means is this: My-eSAT classes are online to make attending class as convenient as powering up your computer. Our workshops are schedulable around your schedule to make sure you can squeeze in every bit of prep you can when you can.

BUT it's still a serious class schedule. If you miss your lectures or workshops, that's the same as missing a class in school. It's important that together we figure out the best study schedule for you; and then, it is just as important that you commit to it.
