1) What do you mean by Live Online classes?

My-eSAT delivers learning for a new generation of students using cutting-edge technology. Live Online classes simulate the benefits of a physical classroom while offering the convenience and efficiency of online delivery. Students will meet "face-to-face" virtually with their instructor and their classmates. Classes are taught in real-time via Cisco WebEx Classroom. The classes have live streaming video of the instructor and live audio and text capabilities for both the instructor and the student. Our virtual classroom is not meant to substitute a traditional classroom, but improve upon it. We believe our Live Online courses offer all the intimacy of a traditional classroom but also additional learning tools and capabilities undreamed of in the traditional classroom. The online environment additionally provides capabilities for instant polling (i.e. pop quiz questions), instant distribution of softcopy course material, and automatic recordings of whole lectures for future on-demand playback. It provides our students with all the learning tools that the newest technology can give.

2) Once I decide on a course, how are students assigned to their particular class?

Each student will speak with a My-eSAT course counselor prior to assignment to a class. During the interview, the counselor will work with students to identify their areas of strengths and weaknesses based on the results of their diagnostic test, personal goals, and motivation level. Based on their needs, they will be grouped in a class of similar students. Grouping students with their close peers will help instructors customize an effective curriculum tailored to best meet the needs of every student. It also helps foster a supportive and close student environment.

3) What are the technology requirements for taking a My-eSAT Live Online Course?

My-eSAT holds live classes online using Cisco WebEx technology. In order to receive seamless access into our virtual classroom, students are required to have broadband internet, such as cable and DSL. In order to most effectively participate in the live audio feature, a headset with microphone is required. My-eSAT will send each student a complimentary headset with our course materials. A webcam is not necessary. Easy access to a printer is highly recommended.

Cisco WebEx supports Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and AIX Operating Systems. Please go to http://support.webex.com for more detailed information. If you have any technical questions or require technical support entering our live online classrooms, please call WebEx technical support at toll free number 1-866-229-3239. The technical support team is available 24/7 and is very helpful.

4) What kind of qualifications do your SAT instructors have?

My-eSAT prides itself in the excellence and dedication of its instructors. Recruited from the top universities in the nation, all My-eSAT instructors have personally scored over 2100 overall and over 750 in the subject they are teaching. Our instructors are required to attend annual trainings by College Board in order to keep up-to-date on the newest changes in the test. My-eSAT teachers are smart, energetic, and genuinely caring about the progress of their students. Indeed, one advantage of a virtual classroom is that it offers students anywhere access to the best teachers available.

5) What materials are provided with the course?

After registration into a course, My-eSAT will mail you our My-eSAT Workbook and a complimentary headset with microphone. The Workbook is a compilation of all selected course material, homework problems, and practice tests used in the course. Lecture slides are released electronically after each lecture. Similarly, the answer keys to the practice tests are released electronically only after the submission of the test.

6) How do students attend Live Online classes?

Before the course, students are required to watch a step-by-step tutorial on how to attend and participate in the online class successfully. Students can join My-eSAT’s Live Online classes at the convenience of their own computer. All they need is go to the My-eSAT website and click Go To Live Class. They are instantly redirected into the virtual classroom. Any further technical problems and questions can be quickly addressed by the Cisco WebEx technical support team. Please contact them at the toll free number 1-866-229-3239. The technical support team is available 24/7.

7) How do your point increase guarantees work?

My-eSAT is so confident in the caliber of our course that we offer highly competitive point improvement guarantees. We guarantee that your score will go up based on a real pre-test (PSAT or SAT exam) as compared to the actual post-course SAT exam. If no pre-test is available, we will use your diagnostic exam. If My-eSAT is unable to raise your point by the guarantee, we will continue to work with you, free of charge. Students will enroll in a free SAT Essentials course. The point guarantees are listed as follows.

COURSE POINT IMPROVEMENT GUARANTEE
SAT EssentialsHigher
SAT High Expectations200 points
My-eSAT Prep Package A200 points
My-eSAT Prep Package B250 points
My-eSAT Prep Package C300 points

However, we also request that the students do their part to help us teach them. The point improvement guarantees are only valid provided the student has attended all lectures (or made them up with the approval of his/her instructor), taken all practice tests, and completed all assigned homework. Please see the "SAT Course" section of this website for a description of the homework and lecture time commitment related to each course.

8) What are the responsibilities of the students?

The SAT Essentials course and SAT High Expectations course require a commitment of 8 hours/week of lecture and testing along with 4-6 hours/week of homework. SAT test prep is a significant time commitment, similar to a temporary part-time job. We strive to maintain our students’ interest with the enthusiasm of our instructors, relevant visual aids, and lively social environment.

Due to a feature of our virtual classroom, we are able to offer on-demand lecture playbacks for all students, including those who are unable to attend a live class. We strongly recommend students attend all live lectures in order to fully benefit from live participation with their instructor and peers. However, if a student cannot attend a live lecture during the course for a legitimate reason, he/she may be excused by the instructor in advance. In this case, on-demand lecture playbacks are vital for keeping him/her up to speed.

The SAT Verbal Foundation courses include on a weekly basis: one 2-hour lecture, and approximately 5 hours of homework. The program may last either 3 months or 6 months (recommended) and is designed to fit comfortably into students’ routine life much like a hobby or an additional high school class.

9) How do I register for the course?

Please fill out the registration form found in the "Register" portion of our website and electronically submit the form along with a photo headshot of the student (to be used for social interaction within the class). My-eSAT accepts payment via Paypal through our website or check mailed to our headquarters at:

10) What are the differences between the different programs?

My-eSAT offers several SAT preparation courses and packages to suits different student’s needs. Our courses are divided between SAT Intensive Preparation courses (SAT Essentials, SAT High Expectations, SAT Drill) and long-term SAT Verbal Foundation courses.

The Intensive SAT Preparation courses are designed to be taken immediately prior the student’s scheduled test date and focus on maximizing his/her score to its highest possible given a shorter window of time (2 months or less). The My-eSAT Intensive SAT Preparation programs include the 4-week SAT Essentials Course, the 8-week SAT High Expectations course, and the two-day SAT Drill course. The SAT Essentials Course is a crash course on My-eSAT test-taking tips and strategies, helping students maximize their score in one month. This course offers significant "bang for your buck," is taught at an accelerated speed, and is guaranteed to increase students’ scores. The SAT High Expectations course offers the same crash course in My-eSAT test-taking tips and strategies, but also includes additional building of fundamental skills through classroom exercises and workshops. This 8-week course is recommended for motivated students looking for the highest score possible, offering almost double the practice tests and lecture hours as SAT Essentials. We guarantee that the SAT High Expectations course will improve scores by 200 points. The SAT Drill course includes one full-length practice SAT test with a live proctor and simulates a real test-day experience. After the practice test, students will receive a personalized Test Result Report that pinpoints strengths and weaknesses. Student then attend a 2-hour live online lecture reviewing the correct answers of the practice test. This short course is perfect for a little extra practice right before the big day.

The SAT Verbal Foundation courses are designed to build a student's reading comprehension, vocabulary, and essay-writing skills over time and with practice. My-eSAT offers a 3-month long Verbal Frameworks course and a 6-month long Verbal Foundation course. The two courses target the common problem that last-minute test preparation, while more effective for Math and grammar sections of the SAT, often is not enough for Critical Reading and essay –writing portions of the SAT. Students struggling with these areas or have hit a plateau where they cannot seem to score any higher may find this course perfect for them. We recommend the SAT Verbal Foundation courses for highly motivated test-takers aiming to score above 2100.

Due to the length of the courses, the Intensive SAT prep courses are designed primarily for junior year and senior year students while the Verbal Foundations course is generally for sophomore year and junior year students. My-eSAT also offers three SAT Prep Packages which combine an Intensive Prep Courses with a Verbal Foundation courses at a discounted price. See the "SAT Courses" portion of this website for more information.
